WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Anthony Brindisi is urging the U.S. Department of Defense to invest in quantum computing research at Rome Laboratory.
Brindisi says the local teams are at the forefront of that research, and we "…need to keep it that way to keep adversaries like China at bay."

Brindisi serves on the House Armed Services Committee, and on Wednesday he addressed witnesses during a hearing on the DoD’s role in competing with China.
“I am particularly concerned about DoD keeping pace with China in terms of our investments in information technologies—specifically Quantum sciences,” said Brindisi. “It has been fairly well documented that information warfare is a core strength of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and in recent years, China has aggressively invested and increased the pace of its Quantum research.”
Experts say once fully developed, quantum computers could perform at speeds millions of times faster than today's most advanced machines.
