Congressman Anthony Brindisi has announced a major push for a permanent fix for families of first responders affected by 9/11.
The congressman held a news conference at the Rome Central Fire Station Wednesday afternoon to make the announcement.
Brindisi is pushing Congress to help the 9/11 first responders, who breathed in the toxic elements of ground zero in 2001, and still suffer today.
Brindisi says that this bill is long overdue, and with the 18th anniversary of the terrorist attacks coming up – now is the time for a permanent solution.
The proposed health bill would permanently reinstate the victim's health care fund so that families would not have to worry about its renewal again.
