UNION, N.Y. – A Broome County woman was arrested after allegedly making a fake police ticket and showing it to her employer.
Alexia M. Pike, 32, told her employer she was issued the ticket for traveling during a state of emergency.
State police started to investigate after Pike’s employer called the Broome County Sheriff’s Department to verify her story. The employer said Pike showed them a photo of the ‘warning ticket’ that she allegedly received for traveling after a state of emergency was declared due to coronavirus.
State police later found that the ticket was fabricated. Pike is also accused of using the name and shield number of a trooper who assisted her in January when she was in a car accident.
She was charged with third-degree forgery after she was arrested Monday.
Pike was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Union court on May 19.
