BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a Buffalo high school teacher faces drug trafficking and firearms charges after a raid at his western New York home turned up assorted guns, explosives, marijuana and other drugs.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Buffalo says 53-year-old Michael Masecchia of Williamsville has been charged with possession and distribution of marijuana, maintaining a drug-involved premises and possession of firearms related to drug trafficking.

Federal investigators allege Masecchia has been involved in growing and selling marijuana for at least 20 years.

Buffalo Public Schools issued a statement saying Masecchia has been placed on leave.

Prosecutors say the arrest stems from an ongoing investigation of organized crime.

There was no immediate information on an attorney who could comment on Masecchia's behalf.
