ILION, N.Y. - The Central Valley Academy class of 2020 was honored Wednesday night with a car parade.
The parade started at Fisher Elementary School in the Village of Mohawk and ended at CVA in Ilion.
Reilly Rich, a CVA senior says she was thankful for everyone who came out to support her and her classmates.
"It was really special that we got to see everyone and we were all together and we had a lot of fun," Rich said. "We really appreciate everyone coming out and supporting us, it was nice seeing all of our teachers and everyone who have been a part of our lives the past 13 years."
Even with so many milestones missed, Rich is still finding a way to look on the bright side.
“It definitely was unfortunate what happened but I think that everything happened for a reason and we’re just going to be stronger because of this and we all went through it together," Rich said. "I think that everyone at our school and the community has done a really good job of coming together and making it memorable and special for us and we definitely wont forget our senior year.”
Teachers and staff members who are retiring this year were also honored in the parade.
