CANASTOTA, N.Y. -- Two vehicles were reported stolen late Monday night in the village of Canastota. Police say they have recovered one of the two vehicles.
Canastota Police say it appears that the culprits were so brazen, that they used the cars while they went from house to house opening unlocked cars and stealing whatever they thought was valuable.
This happened on Clark Street, East Chapel Street, James Street and Pleasant Street.
Until things get straightened out, police are asking residents to lock their doors, take the keys out, and to not leave anything valuable in sight.
The remaining vehicle, a 2012 Kia Serento with Cesario Transport imaged on the front doors, was last seen in Geddes, where it fled from the police.
If you see it, do not approach. You are asked to call 911.
