UTICA, N.Y. -- Go The Distance is already in week nine, but before our runners set out on the Boilermaker course – we carbo-load!
It's time for Carmella's Café Pasta Challenge! New this year is the fact that it will be an individual competition – no teams.
Participation in the "challenge" is open to all pasta lovers! This is not an "how much can you eat" contest, but rather it is a, "how quickly can you eat" contest.
It's a race to eat a bowl of Carmella's Cafe's homemade pasta topped with Carmella's very own, made-from-scratch spaghetti sauce to win dinner at Carmella's Cafe for one year!!
The event will take place at 12 p.m. noon on Saturday, July 13 during The Fitness Mill Health & Wellness Expo on the lawn outside the IT Building at Mohawk Valley Community College.
Here are the details:
Pasta and aprons will be supplied by Carmella's Cafe.
Water will be provided to all participants.
The "challenge" will be revealed just prior to the contest
The event is held outside. Participants are protected from the elements by a tent.
All participants will receive a commemorative prize. The winner's name will be engraved on the "Colander Cup" that is displayed at Carmella's Café. The winning person will receive "Dinner for Two Every Month for a Year" from Carmella's Café.
