ILION -- Crews responded to a house fire on Barringer road in Ilion around 10 a.m. this morning.
No flames were visible from outside the home, but smoke was billowing out the windows. Firefighters had to break the window on the second floor to ventilate the smoke.

Crews had the fire under control quickly after arriving on scene.
The Ilion fire chief says the fire was in a second-floor bedroom and flames did reach the attic.
The two adults and two children who live in the home, as well as their two dogs, got out safely.
The fire chief says the fire was accidental.
