CAZENOVIA, N.Y. -- State Police have arrested a Madison County man after they say he allegedly stole nearly $50,000 from the Cazenovia Pop Warner Football League. The man was a former treasurer of the league.
Nathan Hoak, 48, of Cazenovia is charged with grand larceny and falsifying business records.
State Police were contacted in June 2019 after discrepancies were found regarding the league's bank accounts.
It is alleged that, from April 2017 until February 2019, the bank account was used for Hoak's lifestyle (making car payments, insurance payments, gasoline, groceries, cell phone bills, and other expenses).
Hoak is also accused of falsifying financial records and submitting them to the Cazenovia Pop Warner board members.
He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
