UTICA N.Y.- The Great New York State Fair would have been this week. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there is no State Fair in 2020.
But one local restaurant, is offering food that would typically be available for fair lovers!
Celtic Harp Irish Pub & Restaurant on Varick Street in Utica is hosting a State Fair food week.
The food is available until Saturday September 5, 2020, and the menu includes The Kahuna Burger, Nebraska Burger, Sausage and Pepper Sandwiches, Chicken Spiedes, and even Fried Snickers. There also is a special order of Turkey Legs!
Thomas Powers, the Owner of Celtic Harp says the restaurant had to order the food at least over a week out to plan for this, and wanted to bring some normality, since there is no actual state fair this year.
"You've got to make the best of a bad situation. And, part of that is trying to give people something they really enjoy. Every year it's their tradition to go to the state fair. So, if we can carry on a little bit of that tradition, it makes people feel comfortable, and that's what were trying to do, it's kind of bring some normality to a terrible situation. said Powers.
Powers says the menu is getting bigger, and the Heart Attack Burger that was the number one burger at the New York State Fair in 2019, is about to be added this week.
Celtic Harp is open from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday, Closed on Mondays.
