WESTERN, N.Y. (UPDATED) -- A cement truck flipped on its side after going off the road in the Town of Western late Wednesday afternoon.
Photos show a hay wagon crushed by a Reddington cement truck off Beartown Road.
The crash happened around 4 p.m.
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, the cement truck driver, 39-year-old Omar Mejias-Acevedo, of Utica, was cited for speed not reasonable and prudent.
Maciol says Mejias-Acevedo was going too fast for the slippery road conditions, causing the truck to slide off of the road and roll on its side.
No injuries were reported.
Crews at the scene called in a crane to help get the cement truck off its side.
It was not until about 10 p.m. that crews got the truck upright.
