The Central Valley School District Board of Education is now focusing on internal candidates in its search for a new superintendent, according to a notice sent out by the district on Friday.

In December, former Superintendent Dr. Rich Hughes announced he was leaving the position to take on a new position as superintendent of the Frontier Central School District in Hamburg, Erie County. The following day, the Central Valley School District announced that Jeremy Rich, principal of Barringer Road Elementary School, had been appointed as acting superintendent.

According to the notice posted by the district on Friday, “Board of Education President Kelly Rowland indicated the Board is committed to finding and appointing the right candidate as quickly as possible.”
