ALBANY, N.Y. – Those on unemployment in New York who are eligible for an additional $300 through the Lost Wages Assistance (LWA) program, should see the funds by Sept. 18.
Roughly 2 million people who have already pre-qualified will see the payments automatically. However, about 435,000 must submit additional certification to prove they qualify.
Claimants can confirm their eligibility by submitting a DocuSign form, or calling 833-491-0632, by 5 p.m. on Tuesday. If the required information is submitted on time, payments should be distributed by Friday, according to the New York State Department of Labor.
REMINDER: If you were not pre-approved for the LWA program, you must certify to receive LWA benefits.
If you certify by 5 pm TODAY (9/15) and are eligible, you will receive up to three payments by Friday (9/18).
You can certify via DocuSign or by calling 833-491-0632.

If certification is submitted after Sept. 15, claimants may still qualify, but payments will be released on a rolling basis.
Those who qualify may receive up to three $300 payments, to cover wages lost in the month of August. The LWA payments will be made separate from regular unemployment insurance payments.
Important: This week, claimants who are eligible for the Lost Wages Assistance (LWA) program will receive up to three payments of $300.
These payments are distributed separately from your regular UI or PUA payments and will appear on your account by Friday 9/18.
