ROME N.Y.- The City of Rome is taking preventative measures for Coronavirus.
Mayor Jacqueline M. Izzo says in order to prevent a possible Coronavirus spread in the City, John F. Kennedy Ice Arena, The Indoor Park at Pinti Field, and the City's Dog Park will be closed.
While the Ice Arena and Indoor Park Activities are winding down for the season, the Dog Park will be closed.
Izzo also noted that City Hall access is limited, and only those who really need to be in the building will be allowed in, and will be required to report to the information desk.
Izzo also says meetings have been suspended.
"We have suspended neighborhood meetings with counselors, again in an effort to not create public assemblies where people could potentially carry the virus and not know it and unwittingly expose a room full of people to the virus". said Izzo.
The Main Concern for all this according to Izzo is Public Safety and Public Health.
