UTICA, N.Y. – The Utica Board of Estimate and Apportionment voted to send Mayor Robert Palmieri’s proposed 2020-21 budget to the city Common Council for review on Monday.
The council must review and approve the $72.5 million budget by March 20.
The budget includes a 1.9% tax increase that Palmieri said is due to rising costs of healthcare, pensions and public safety.
Palmieri said his priorities for Utica this year include improvements in infrastructure and investments in public safety.
