The city of Utica has declared a snow emergency beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, and it will remain in effect until further notice.
Vehicles must be off city streets by 8 a.m. Friday to allow for snow removal and safe passage of emergency services. Overnight parking permits aren’t applicable during snow emergencies.
The city is urging no unnecessary travel on city streets due to potentially dangerous road conditions, and they’re also urging caution in case of damaged tree limps and potential power outages.
Vehicles left on city streets after 8 a.m. Friday will be subject to ticketing and towing at the owner’s expense.
A state of emergency has been declared in the city of Rome, effective at 11 a.m.
All residents must remove parked cars from city streets by 1 p.m. Friday, and the city is asking residents to cease nonessential travel beginning at 6 p.m. This will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday.
The village of Milford has issued a snow emergency beginning at 11 p.m. Thursday through 12 p.m. Saturday.
During the snow emergency, no vehicles can be parked on village streets.
The village of Cooperstown has issued a snow emergency that takes effect at 11 p.m. Thursday through 10 a.m. Saturday.
No vehicles can be parked on village streets during that time.
NEW YORK MILLS
The village of New York Mills has issued a snow emergency until Saturday morning. All vehicles must be removed from village streets.
VILLAGE OF HERKIMER
The village of Herkimer is under a snow emergency until further notice.
All vehicles must be removed from village streets to allow for snow removal, and people are urged to avoid any unnecessary travel.
The village office is closed Friday as well.
The village of Yorkville has declared a snow emergency until 10 a.m. Saturday. All vehicles must be removed from village streets until then.
The village of Ilion has issued a state of emergency beginning at 11 a.m. Friday until 11 p.m. Friday.
During this time, all vehicles must be removed from village streets, and the village is urging people against unnecessary travel.
The village of Frankfort has issued a snow emergency. All vehicles must be removed from village streets by 12 p.m. Friday.
The village municipal building will also be closing at noon.
The village of Mohawk has issued a parking ban from 9 p.m. Friday through 12 pm. Saturday.
During that time, all vehicles must be removed from village streets, or they may be towed at the owners’ expense.
Heavy, wet snow is expected to continue throughout Friday until about 8 p.m. Downed power lines and tree limbs are causing power outages throughout the region, and there have been many car accidents reported as well.
