NEW HARTFORD, NY – The New Hartford Village Planning Board met Tuesday evening in Butler Hall.
On the agenda, the expansion of one local business, and what that might mean for another.
Cliff’s gas station on Genesee Street in New Hartford is looking to expand and would like to buy the Casa Too Mucha property next door.
The expansion would mean demolishing the two properties and building a new gas station and convenience store on the site.
Planning Board Chairman Jim Crumrine says the board gave their approval to the proposal, contingent on Cliff’s obtaining the needed variances for the new construction.
“The sale of that building is contingent on them getting all their approvals. They’re not going to buy it outright, then say shoot we can’t do it. So it’s not a done deal quite yet.”
Pattie Rizzo, the owner of Casa Too Mucha, confirmed to Newschannel 2 that Jim Clifford of Clifford Fuel is looking to buy the building and expand.
Rizzo is currently taking offers to sell Casa’s recipes and carry on its tradition in a different location.
