CLINTON – The Clinton Central School District is on lockout Wednesday morning after the district was notified Tuesday night about an incident in the village, according to Superintendent Stephen Grimm.
On Tuesday night police notified the district that they conducted a traffic stop around 9-10 p.m. on College Hill Road leading up to Hamilton College, and during the stop three people jumped out of the car and fled into the woods.
Grimm says they were notified around 9 a.m. Wednesday that the suspects had not been apprehended, and the lockout then went into effect.
A lockout is enacted when there is a perceived threat outside of the school. School buildings and grounds are secured, while operations continue as normal inside the school.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
