CLINTON, N.Y. --- The Clinton Pool welcomed back swimmers for the first time on Sunday. The pool's opening was delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Pool management worked with the Oneida County Health Department as well as the Clinton Central School District in formulating a plan to reopen. Within that plan, the pool added some new rules. One of the big changes is online registration. Members now have registered online to secure one of the two three hour time slots.
One is between 1-3:45 pm and 4:15 to 7 pm. The pool also now requires people to wear masks when they leave their designated spots. A rules members said they're used to.
"We're used to having our masks so it's pretty much a part of us. So we've got our masks we're always ready for change," said Kevin Enea.
Pool management said it's a lot of change, but they're glad to be back open.
"There was definitely a doubt. We weren't sure what the state was going to allow us to do. But once we heard we would be able to open, we thought it would be a great idea. We are definitely going minute by minute here now. It's our first opening day and so far it's going very well," said Pool Board Member Alison Peto.
