UTICA, N.Y. – A 41-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl at a home in Utica last year.
According to the Child Advocacy Center, the investigation started after someone made a sexual abuse complaint involving the suspect, Edwin Irizarry, of Clinton, in August of 2019.
Irizarry was arrested in Kirkland on Wednesday, Oct. 21, and charged with felony first-degree sexual abuse.
He was taken to the Utica Police Department to be processed and held for arraignment.
The CAC has issued an order of protection against Irizarry on the child’s behalf.
