HERKIMER, N.Y. – It’s a close call for Herkimer County family court judge, a race that will likely come down to absentee votes after Tuesday’s primaries.
With 100% of precincts reporting results from early and in-person voting, Thad Luke is leading opponent Mark Rose by 4%. Both candidates ran on the Republican and Conservative lines.
Luke is ahead by less than 100 votes on the Republican ticket, while Rose is in the lead by 10 on the conservative ballot.
The current numbers are below:
Official results will not be announced until after absentee votes are counted. Herkimer County sent more than 4,400 absentee ballots for the primary elections, including 2,615 for state and local races. It is unclear at this time how many were returned to the county.
Current Herkimer County Family Court Judge John Brennan is not running for re-election.
