COLD BROOK, NY-- You can still see the vehicle's impression in the snow from an accident that happened along state Route 8 in Cold Brook more than a week ago.
The vehicle stopped just a few feet from Ryan Erb's house. Erb said something needs to be done to make the road safer.
"My biggest concern is I have kids and they ride the school bus and they can't even drop them off in my driveway, because if anybody a big rig especially they're coming on this corner they're not going stop in time," he said.
Erb said he often sees cars and trucks cross the center yellow lines and he's worried another deadly accident is just a matter of time.
"I don't understand how nobody's done anything," he said. "On this corner alone...I've already had three [accidents] and the season's not over. Something should be done now so that people don't get hurt all the time."
He has even put up his own sign to warn drivers to slow down before the turn. Erb said he's open to a variety of changes including reducing the speed limit, adding a caution sign or adjusting the degree of the turn.
Officials with the State Department of Transportation weren't able to provide information on that section of road at the time of publication. But said they plan to provide information later this week.
