HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Colgate men's basketball team will return to game action just after the calendar changes to 2021, as the Patriot League announced its season schedule, Monday.
The Raiders will begin a 16-game slate on Jan. 2 against Army at home. The schedule will place heavy emphasis on geographic proximity, breaking the conference into three regional divisions for this year. It will contain two-game series's on back-to-back nights to cut down on travel and overnight stays.
"Among other significant difficulties, the pandemic has created a cloud of uncertainty for some time," said Raiders head coach Matt Langel. "It is welcomed news for our program and student-athletes to finally have a game schedule to look forward to.
"To be sure, the 20-21 season will be a unique one, full of challenges. We are very much looking forward to navigating those challenges together and are excited for the opportunity to compete for a Patriot League Championship."
Colgate will play home-and-home series against Army, Boston University, Holy Cross, Bucknell and Lehigh.
The regular season will end on Feb. 21 at Cotterell Court against Lehigh, and there are slots for make-up games on Feb. 27-28, if necessary.
Member schools are permitted to schedule non-conference games, however, at this time, the Raiders do not have any on their schedule.
