ROME, N.Y.- While Most businesses are closed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, there are still essential businesses open, and one of them is laundromats.
Colonial Laundromats are Open 24 Hours, and are taking precautions by limiting the number of people allowed in the building to 10 at a time, and asking people to social distance.
Timothy O’Connell, the Owner of Colonial Laundromats tells NEWSChannel 2 Colonial Laundromats are disinfecting non-stop. Employees are cleaning door knobs, machines, and continuously sweeping and mopping the floors.
O’Connell says having clean clothes a time like this is Vitally Important.
“I think it’s vitally important right now. That’s why the government put us an essential. They don’t want people’s dirty clothes piling up in their houses and not being able to clean their clothes and not everyone has a washer and dryer, not everyone has accessibility to a washer and dryer.” said O’Connell.
O’Connell added there are essential employees who are working at other essential businesses at this time who come in to do their laundry, so Colonial Laundromats have to be open so people can do their laundry.
