Utica, N.Y. - Utica Comets goalie Richard Bachman has been selected to represent the United States in the 2018 Ice Hockey Classic, announced Tuesday.
Back for it's fourth year, the Ice Hockey Classic showcases the rivalry between the U.S.A. and Canada on the ice down under.
The classic will consist of six games, three in Australia and three in New Zealand beginning on June 22nd and going until July 7th.
The series will raise awareness for the STOPCONCUSSIONS foundation in association with Brain Injury Australia through ticket purchases.
Bachman will look to help the United States capture it's first Ice Hockey Classic win with Canada winning all three previous series so far.
The Salt Lake City native played in 31 games for the Comets this past season where he went 13-13 with a .902 save percentage and 2.98 goals against average.
