NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – A parade was held in New Hartford for a young girl who received her final cancer treatment Wednesday.
Ella Rae Ryan was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2018 when she was 2 years old, and started receiving chemotherapy treatments shortly after.
Ambulances, fire trucks and police cars lined up in front of St. John Evangelist Church on Oxford Road to congratulate Ella on her last treatment. They decorated the vehicles with balloons an honked as they drove by.
Ella’s aunts, Eileen Roth and Carla Ryan, were at the parade, and said the family is grateful for the community’s support.
