MARCY, N.Y. – A Canastota company has been selected to begin infrastructure work on the new Cree manufacturing facility coming to Marcy.
JBS Dirt was awarded the grading contract to create a level site in preparation for construction.
“The site grading project is part of the ongoing infrastructure work that has been spearheaded by EDGE and our partners at New York State and Oneida County and we are excited to see the Cree Mohawk Valley Fab take another step closer to completion,” said Steven DiMeo, president of Mohawk Valley EDGE.
DiMeo says the initial grading work is scheduled to begin shortly.
Cree plans to build the world’s largest silicon carbide manufacturing plant in Marcy, bringing about 600 jobs to the area over eight years.
