At Thursday's open town hall meeting, Congressman Anthony Brindisi addressed a variety of topics from legalization of marijuana in New York state, problems farmers are facing, to infrastructure and the opioid epidemic.
Brindisi says the goal of the town hall is to speak with the public, face to face, about the issues they want him to tackle.
"It's very important to me to hold town hall meetings because I want folks in this district to know I work for them and regardless of political party we're here to represent everybody in the community," said Brindisi. "This is an opportunity for me to hear first-hand from the people we represent, whatever issue it might be, and we can also update them on some of the things we're working on down in Washington."
Brindisi said he is currently working on a bi-partisan bill to address and prevent veteran suicide.
