UTICA, N.Y. -- Broken Christmas lights cannot go in your recycling bin. But before you throw the lights away in the trash, consider the Central New York Veterans Outreach Center.

Every year, the center collects old lights for recycling.

Proceeds go towards services for veterans and their families.

You can drop the lights off Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The center is on Washington Street in downtown Utica.
