Our weather is changing quickly here in Central New York. While it may not be fall according to the calendar, the weather is cooling off quickly. A cold front rolled through the region on Wednesday, producing showers and thunderstorms across our region. A few storms produced gusty winds and even some hail in Southern Otsego County.
Behind this front, we find much cooler, drier air. Temperatures Wednesday night are expected to fall into the 40s in most areas. This isn't unprecidented for Central New York, but it is earlier than usual. Our area has not experienced a frost yet, but most likely will by later in the month. Going forward, sunshine is expected to dominate for Thursday, with highs near 70. Friday features a mix of sunshine and clouds, with highs also near 70.
As Hurricane Dorian departs the eastern seaboard, the northwest winds in its wake will bring cool, breezy conditions to the region this weekend. Highs on Saturday and Sunday are only expected to climb into the 60s, with lake effect rain showers and breezy conditions. The weather does warm up somewhat for early next week.
