Meteorological fall is more than half over, and the weather is gradually cooling down. Today was a treat, with sunshine mixed with clouds and highs in the 60s. A cold front moving through this evening will keep the clouds around this evening and tomorrow.
Our next chance of rain looks to be on Friday, as a weak disturbance slides along a cold front. This brings widespread light rain to the region, with rainfall totals less than 0.5" for the majority of the area. No flooding is expected. What we should keep in mind is that all the leaves that continue to fall off the trees will make the roads slippery when wet. Cars take three times longer to stop on wet, leaf filled roads at 40 mph compared to dry roads.
Looking at the weekend, the weather looks much more pleasant on Saturday compared to Sunday. Saturday features partly sunny skies and highs in the low 50s. Widespread steady rain is expected on Sunday. Sunday's rain could be heavy at times, with totals between 1-2".
