WESTMORELAND, NY – The coronavirus has forced the postponement of many weddings over the past few months, leaving potential newlyweds in limbo.
On Sunday, one local couple decided enough was enough.
Ron Klopfanstein and his partner Jim Hale decided the time was finally right for them to get married, which they did at their Westmoreland home.
Of course, they still had to follow social distancing guidelines.
The guest list was limited to 50 people and everyone wore a mask.
Klopfanstein says the coronavirus has really put things in perspective for them.
“A pandemic makes you think about what’s important. We thought about our 20 years together and this is our time to do this.”
Hale agreed, adding “People often see this as a reason to stay in place and not do things, we’re trying to say it’s ok. Even with restrictions, you can do positive things.”
The happy couple made sure to live stream their nuptials for family and friends who could not make it to the ceremony.
