UTICA, N.Y. – Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente said two more people have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the county’s total to 12.
There are still seven confirmed cases in Herkimer County and one in Otsego County.
Picente reminded residents that there is a coronavirus hotline that can be reached at 315-798-5431.
The county also hopes to have a mental health hotline set up this week to help people suffering with anxiety and other issues over the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
"The isolation that has taken place, the containment they are under regarding the inability to move about as freely as before. Obviously, those areas concern all of us and we want to make mental health services available to anyone who needs it," said Picente.
There have been 167 negative test results in Oneida County so far, and 300 people were discharged from quarantine as of Tuesday. Roughly 200 people remain in mandatory quarantine as testing continues.
Picente also said Tuesday if anyone witnesses businesses violating state mandates, they should contact the Attorney General’s Office.
