FLORENCE, N.Y. - Fire fighters from several departments were dispatched to a house fire in Florence Tuesday evening.

Crews responded to 10624 Taberg Florence Road shortly after 6:00 p.m. When officials first arrived they encounted heavy smoke and flames, forcing them to call in more fire fighters from neighboring departments.

Fire crews spend about two hours on the scene.

Neighors tell NEWSChannel 2 that no one lived the house. One person, who didn't want to go on camera, said they saw people at the home earlier in the day collecting their things and cleaning.

The property is listed on real estate website Zillow.com as a foreclosure.

There is no word yet on how the fire started or the extent of damage, and there are no reports of any injuries.
