ROME, N.Y. -- Officials with the Rome Fire Department say a multi-family house fire is under investigation.
Calls for a working structure fire came in shortly before 12:30 a.m. Monday on West Court St., in Rome.
Fire officials say the fire broke out on the second floor and was confined to one room. They report at least two people were living on the second floor, three other occupants were residing on the first floor.
No injuries were reported, according to fire officials with the Rome Fire Department. All animals are also said to have made it out unharmed.
As standard protocol, fire officials say National Grid cut power to the building. No one is staying at the home right now. The individuals impacted will stay with other people living nearby.
Fire investigators were still at the scene early Monday morning trying to determine a cause.
Rome Police and AmCare Ambulance assisted at the scene.
