UTICA, N.Y. -- Crews are on the scene right now battling a fire at a two-family home on the 1200 block of Brinckerhoff Avenue in Utica.
Calls came in just before 7 a.m. Monday.
Utica Fire Chief Scott Ingersoll says when his crews got there, heavy fire and smoke was coming from first and second floor. The fire moved into the attic.
Everyone made it out safely, but one cat died.
Heavy smoke could be seen coming from the house.
The investigation is ongoing, and the American Red Cross is assisting the three people who have been displaced.
At this point the fire seems to be under control. There’s heavy damage to the upstairs and downstairs of the building. Working to get more information.@WKTV pic.twitter.com/HSVB0NyOac
