UTICA, N.Y.- Crews are investigating the cause of a fire in East Utica Wednesday night.

The call came in around 6:00 pm on Catherine Street near Pellettieri Ave.

Utica Fire Officials say a vacant three story building had been boarded up, but there was already structural damage inside, possibly from a previous fire.

We're told the roof and floors collapsed from the third floor all the way down to the first.

Due to the collapsed-inside, firefighters could only fight the fire from the exterior.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
