Oneida, N.Y. - Three and a half hour trips to Buffalo once during the week and then over the weekend for games has paid off as Oneida senior Rachel DeRuby will continue her soccer career for Division I Liberty University beginning next year.
The all-time scoring leader for the Indians, with 59 goals and 47 assists for 165 points during her four-year varsity career.
She officially signed her letter of intent to play for the Flames on November 13.
DeRuby was a four-time Tri-Valley League All-Star selection, and the 2017 TVL Pioneer Player of the Year.
She also plays club for the Western New York Flash, based out of Buffalo, where she plays some of the most talented girls soccer players in the region.
DeRuby said she plans on studying political science in college, with a minor of international affairs.
