DEANSBORO, N.Y. – Residents in the Deansboro water district are advised to conserve water while crews work on a water main leak.
Residents are asked to limit dish washing and laundry, and keep showers as short as possible.
“People that are a part of that water district are being asked to conserve water. They can still go about normal activities, but any kind of car washing that is done at times in the winter months is requested not to be done. Not anything of high urgency but it's very important to be corrected as soon as possible,” said Dan Gilmore of the Oneida County Health Department.
The district requested the assistance of water leak experts, who determined the leak is along Route 12B. Bulk water delivery has also been contracted from Oriskany Falls water district to supplement the Deansboro water supply.
Oneida County Health Department has been notified.
The conserve water order will be in effect until further notice.
Anyone experiencing pressure issues, cloudy water, water pooling on the ground, water in the basement, unusual sounds or flowing water in abnormal locations should contact the Deansboro water district superintendent by calling 315-368-3217.
