DEERFIELD, NY – Schools may be closed across the state due to the coronavirus, but that doesn’t mean the learning has stopped.
On Monday, parents of Deerfield Elementary School students were able to pick up learning materials, as well as any personal belongings that may have been left behind when the schools shut down.
To comply with CDC social distancing guidelines, teachers and staff brought the items directly to the parents while they remained in their vehicles.
Teachers have been busy preparing learning materials for students to keep them focused and moving forward during this very trying school year.
Deerfield Elementary School principal, Kelli McGowan says this is a new situation for everybody.
“We want to keep them on the best routine that we can. We have great support from our board and administration. The teachers have been excellent working with the parents and the families.”
