DEERFIELD, N.Y. --- Most residents in our area decorate their homes with lights, wreaths, and other holiday items. But Deerfield resident Bryan Stamboly is decorating his house based on his favorite movie, Home Alone.

He decorated his house both inside and out based on the film's famous booby traps and other popular scenes from the movies.

"It's all just household stuff. Some of the stuff I'd just had as a kid, but a lot of it is just a lot of thought, said Stamboly."

He originally posted pictures to his Facebook page and got a lot of attention from the community. His post now has hundreds of likes and over a dozen shares.

"I had a lot of likes. I know it's a lot of people's favorite movies but I didn't think it was going to get that much attention. But I was glad to redirect some attention to the holidays and why its good to have some comedy involved," said Stamboly.

It even got the attention of some of his neighbors. He said that at first they were confused about what he was doing, but after they found out, he said they enjoyed it.

Bryan tells NEWSChannel 2 that one of his favorite decorations, the blowtorch, made some neighbors think his house was on fire.

"They were pretty confused for a while, and I said to them you have to be patient. They were wondering what kind of lights I was going to put up. We had someone come flying over because they thought my house was on fire because of the blowtorch, said Stamboly.

As for his plans next year, Bryan said he will try to go even bigger. He also said he might try a different theme, his second favorite Christmas movie, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

We have a full gallery of his decorations above. ^^^
