ROME – Development is officially underway following a groundbreaking for a new facility in the Griffiss Business and Technology Park on Wednesday.
The new corporate headquarters for NYSTEC will be built at Griffiss, and the company will also lease approximately 16,000-square-feet in the new facility as a means of fostering economic development.
According to the company’s website, NYSTEC is “a not-for-profit technology consulting company, advising organizations, agencies, institutions, and businesses since 1996.”
NYSTEC started in Rome and it continues to grow locally.
“Twenty-two years ago when there was the base closure here, NYSTEC was created by the state as a not-for-profit entity to serve governments in these high-technology projects,” said Mike Walsh, president of NYSTEC. “So we were born in Rome, we grew up in Rome, and now we have the opportunity to build our own headquarters, twenty-two years later, right here on the base, which is really the essence of how we started.”
