DOLGEVILLE, NY - It started out as just a little rain storm in Dolgeville Saturday, but within seconds it became much worse.
High winds brought down numerous trees, some landing on cars, others bringing down power lines, and shutting down streets while crews worked to clear out the debris.
The storm also damaged multiple roofs in the village. One woman even came home to find part of someone's roof in her driveway.
Residents were amazed at the amount of damage that occurred and how quickly it happened.
"I heard high winds, rain, and hail bouncing off the windows. Then I heard this big bang, so I came downstairs and see that a tree fell on my car”, said Dolgeville resident Kimm Gage.
Bucky Johnson was carving pumpkins with his family when the storm hit. “Just within seconds it went from just a little bit of rain to it seemed like tornado conditions. We started seeing debris and part of our roof fly off and go into our garden”.
With all the wires that were brought down by trees and high winds, there were a few reports of some power outages in the area. National Grid responded to the scene to make any necessary repairs.
