UTICA, N.Y. -- The Illinois-based transportation outfit that the Utica City School District has contracted with for the next five years says they're looking for a place in Utica for the buses that will be used to transport students, and they plan on aggressively seeking to hire former Birnie Bus employees. Birnie's contract with the school district will not be renewed at the end of the school year.
Durham School Services says they plan to pay former Birnie Bus employees more than they were making with Birnie, and, allow them to keep their seniority. They're holding a meet and greet Thursday, April 8, at the Delta by Marriott, in downtown Utica. They are asking people to make appointments for the meet and greet, as well as for interviews, also at the hotel, the following week of April 12. Anyone interested can schedule a time slot for both, at Utica.Durham@gmail.com
The events are open to anyone interested; not just former Birnie Bus employees.
