Early morning fire engulfs portion of Utica home

The fire started a little before 5 a.m. Tuesday.

UTICA, N.Y. -- Fire crews are on-scene battling a fire at a home along the 1200 block of Kemble Street in the City of Utica.

The fire started a little before 5 a.m. Tuesday. Video was shared by viewer Gary Muntz. 

Along with fire crews, Utica Police were on-scene assisting as well.

According to Utica Fire Department, a firefighter was treated and released for a neck injury sustained during the incident.

The vacant home was boarded up and after a search they found it was empty. There was exterior damage to a couple surrounding homes. The cause is under investigation.
