SCHUYLER, N.Y. – The proposed water transmission line through the East Schuyler water district was approved by a vote of 71-36 Tuesday.
Only impacted property owners were eligible to vote, because they will owe a yearly fee for the new water line.
As the project moves forward, the Schuyler town supervisor says the plan is to try and find more funding options and reduce the cost for residents.
The new transmission line will bring water from the Mohawk Valley Water Authority into Schuyler, Ilion, Frankfort and Herkimer.
