SCHUYLER, N.Y. – East Schuyler residents impacted by the new water transmission line project in the Mohawk Valley, were able to vote on the proposition Tuesday.
The new water line, which would run along Route 5, would bring water from the Mohawk Valley Water Authority into Schuyler, Ilion, Frankfort and Herkimer.
Only property owners in the affected district are eligible to vote, because they would be paying an annual fee if the project moves forward.
If the voters reject the proposal, the water line will still run through Schuyler, but there will be no distribution lines in the town.
Polls opened at 8 a.m. Tuesday, and close at 8 p.m.
