WHITESBORO N.Y.- More than 400 Educators from across the Mohawk Valley were recognized Thursday night.
The ceremony was held at Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro.
Educators from Oneida, Herkimer, and Madison Counties were honored for their impact of Students, School Districts, Colleges, and the Community.
The Genesis Group and First Source Federal Credit Union Sponsored the event.
Ray Durso Jr. the Executive Director of The Genesis Group says since it is American Education week across the country, it fits that they honor local educators from the area.
"We have more than 400 educators from across the region the K-12 sector and all of our colleges. And we are recognizing those that are making a positive impact. Our review committee has selected some wonderful people. A few people are getting a lifetime achievement award and certainly a great event education is a billion-dollar industry in our community and it should be celebrated.” says Durso.
David Langone, Robert Reina, and Jacklin Starks were inducted into the hall of distinction. Awards were handed out for distinguished service, outstanding educators, and programs.
