UTICA, N.Y. -- The Easter bunny is getting help from the Easter Bag Brigade this year.
It's a program that started with a few baskets and grown to hundreds of bags of goodies for kids in need.
Volunteers met at the DeSales Center Thursday morning to organize the haul with the Easter bunny himself.
Stuffed animals, snacks, candy, games, toys – even toothbrushes were given out to the children. This is the third year that the Easter Bag Brigade has been spreading cheer.
"It's important because we're helping children who are under-served. It's fun. They really enjoy going to stores and they get their kids involved too,” said Rosemary Bonacci.
This year's team of volunteers made more than 300 Easter bags that will be given to kids at Thea Bowman House and the Neighborhood Center.
