New Hartford Police say Rachel A. Clark, age 40, was operating a Fort Plain School Bus when she pulled out of the House of the Good Shepherd into the path of a vehicle driven by Paige R. Rice, age 23, who was southbound on Champlin Avenue.
The impact resulting from the collision caused the school bus to roll over on its side. The New York Mills Fire Department along with the Yorkville Fire Department assisted in the extrication of three students from the school bus.
Edwards Ambulance along with Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Company transported the students to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for minor injuries. Clark was also transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for evaluation only. Rice had no injuries and Clark was ticketed for Failure to Yield the Right of Way and will appear in Town of New Hartford Court at a later date.
